Fighting the wrong battle.

'Nothing lasts forever' - Sidney Sheldon

Everything from the moon to the sand that we try to hold in the palm of our hand, undergoes change. Change is inevitable. Our obstinate belief that we can stop the change leads to suffering. The idea of control is nothing more than a myth.

Can the strong gravity of earth stop the tides from rising when moon calls them?

Can the sky stop itself from crying when the clouds get saturated?

Can Titan stop revolving around Saturn and be possessed by Earth?

Can you stand when you are bound to fall? Can you keep, the one you are meant to lose?

We cannot stop what's meant to happen but we can change how we experience it. We can be each other's astrolabe. With companionship, kindness and love, we can reduce the pain that comes with it. We may not be able to stand against the change but we can stand with each other, through it. We spend our entire lives controlling the change and fighting the wrong battle. Only when we surrender and accept it, can we fight it right. As nothing stays forever so no matter how huge the tide is, it will settle. Water will be calm again. Life will continue.
